Divine Karunalayam trust is registered under Trust Act with Sub Registrar Pathanamthitta and the Registration No. P. 65/2001 dated 18/04/01. The trust started functioning at Azhoor, Pathanamthitta in the initial stage. Divine Karunalayam wasshifted from Azhoor to Omallor on 02/09/05.

This trust is established with the aim of giving charity to down trodden, old aged, physically handicapped and mentally weak people deserted by family and friends. We consider it as a divine vocation of a socially responsible citizen to take care of the demoted sections of the society. People of the said category wandering astray along the streets are taken in as inmates and are given appropriate careand treatment. Among the inmates, there are deaf, dumb, paralyzed, diabetic, asthma and mental patients. The inmates are provided with all their basic requirements including food, accommodation, treatment and medical care. The volunteers at Karunalayam take care of the inmates as own family and consider it as a divine calling.

Divine Karunalayam has its own cemetery at Angadical in Pathanamthitta district. Whenever an inmate passes away, he is buried at the cemetery with all the burial rites of an Indian citizen. Within the last ten years, forty two dead bodies have been buried in this cemetery. The Trust does its activities around Pathanamthitta,focusing theGeneral hospital and orphanage.
